Finding hope in community
When we first met Jesca, she was a young woman completely broken by life. The war in South Sudan had taken everything—her family, her home, her sense of safety, and her hope.
Living in the refugee settlement, she often sat alone, drowning in memories of loss and pain. The trauma was unbearable, and she once attempted to end her life. She later told us,
“I felt forgotten—by people and by God.”
Through one of our women’s gatherings, she encountered Jesus and found hope. Today, she leads a weekly Bible study for women in her community—walking alongside others who are where she once was.
She’s now surrounded by a loving community that prays with her and reminds her daily that she’s not alone.
